You've heard of pineapple upsidedown cake.  Have you heard of apple upsidedown spice cake?  Well, that's the idea behind this recipe.    Add ingredients from The Cocoa Exchange and you have a simple but delicious cake that is sure to impress!  My family raved over this cake!  My husband asked for it for his birthday, but said "you can make apple pie instead, that's probably easier."  HA!!  He has no idea how easy this recipe is!!  He was so happy to get this Caramel Apple Spice Cake instead of regular apple pie!  And I was happy to not have to peel so many apples!

Caramel Apple Spice Cake

 Ingredients:

TCE White Chocolate Baking Mix

3 TBS TCE Spiced Chai Tea Mix

2 apples

3/4 cup lightly packed  brown sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1 egg

Preheat oven to 350* F and grease a 9 inch cake pan.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt brown sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

While that is melting, peel, core and slice the apples about 1/2 inch thick.

Pour caramel sauce into prepared pan and layer apple slices on top.

Prepare TCE White Chocolate Baking Mix per the direction on the bag.  When almost mixed, add the Spiced Chai Tea Mix to the mixture.

Slowly our the batter over the apples and bake until a toothpick inserted to the center comes out clean.  Let cool 10 minutes in the pan.  Then invert onto a plate and enjoy! Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
