My grandmother instilled this in me. It’s hard to say if it was her or my nerdy side which kept me asking questions. Some aren’t always thrilled with my questions however if you don’t ask you won’t know. And I always say the only 'dumb' question is the one that is not asked.
After getting out of college, I continued to look for ways to keep the learning going. With jobs I was always wondering how could I take advantage of training opportunities or take another position to advance my knowledge. The problem that lines within this is you are limited to the area you’re in and even though you’re still learning it may not be as fulfilling as you’d like.
This next one may get some eye rolling. It’s ok I’ve been there. Self or personal development! It’s ok it’s come a long way & we have more options than ever before. It’ll take time to find what works best for you. Not every book, video, speaker, or coach may be your cup of tea (or whiskey). You’ll know when you find it!
Improving yourself will better all aspects of your life. Incorporating the varying aspects will help you & your journey.
Thru Lemongrass Spa's Aspiring Leaders program this summer I was fortunate enough to be inspired by and improve myself. And why not give a plug to Laurie Girardi! She provided excellent training & a new perspective to our group of Aspiring Leaders. Then to be given the privilege to hear her speak & meet her in person took it to another level. There’s still something about the in person connection.
