I come from a Military family & I am a proud Veteran. When I was growing up the Army moved us every two years. A few years after graduating from High School I joined the Navy and enjoyed 6 years in the Virginia Beach area. In 1991 I was married and we welcomed the first of three children. We have been blessed with two daughters and a son and they are my heart and soul. My husband and I are now adjusting to having an empty nest (unless you count our four dogs, guinea pig, bird and turtle) My biggest mistake in life was not LIVING life When my kids were little I was trying to build a career to help support the family & at the same time I was going to school at night to complete my BA and later my MBA Looking back I realize that the path I chose did not create a quality life and the time I lost with my children while I was at school or work can never be reclaimed. It was a reality that hit me hard in 2009 when my oldest daughter graduated from High School. At the time I had one in Middle School and one in Elementary School. My life was an endless treadmill that included commute, work, commute, sleep, start over I was miserable and wondered if this is all there is.
After working in the corporate world for over 15 years, I had reached a critical point in life and needed to make a significant change. While I earned a nice income working as a Human Resources Manager, most mornings I left before the kids were even awake and by 2009 I found myself reaching the point of burnout. There were two significant gaps in my life Quality time with my family and time for socializing and making friends. So I began to explore home based business opportunities that would generate a nice income to help support the family while also incorporating the things I lacked.
