I am supposed to write "My Story" in 300 words or less? Well, that seems impossible! I have lived in so many wonderful, and some, not so wonderful places, including Virginia, Hawaii, North Carolina, California, and now, for the past 20 years, Florida. Can you tell I am in a military family? My dad was a Marine pilot and my husband a Navy SEAL. (now a Reservist)
We love Florida and have chosen to raise our family here in Tampa. We have a beautiful daughter, 19, who attends Ole Miss (Hotty Toddy!) and a son, 16, who is a junior in high school. We have a full and busy life of work, school, sports, and the everyday hustle and bustle of suburban life. I wouldn't change it for anything!
Raising an active family is very hectic, and sometimes you lose sight of the big picture. We are not a perfect family, and sometimes I get wrapped up in the little things that, in the long run, really don't matter. So, I have been making a real effort to stop and realize the beauty and abundance around me, even if it is something as little as my teenager putting down their phone to have a decent conversation, in the car, rushing to the next appointment.
I love to visit my family in Virginia and take family vacations with my kids. Stepping back, taking a deep breath, and loving what I have been blessed with.... that is my story, in 253 words, to be exact.
